A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A SUPERVISOR AT THE DON BOSCO PLAYGROUND OF OUD-HEVERLEE 

GETTING UP – 7.15 U.

BREAKFAST WITH THE ENTIRE GROUP – 7.40 U.

We all eat breakfast together at 7.30 am. The people with bus service do have to hurry sometimes because their bus already leaves at 8.00 am. After breakfast, everyone has their own little duty like doing the dishes or helping with day-care.

EVERYONE GATHERS ON THE PLAYGROUND – 9.00 U.

Everyone is ready at 9.00 am to take care of the children during free time. Most of the supervisors also try to dress themselves up to receive the children in an original way.

ACTIVITIES – 10.00 U. UNTIL 17.00 U.

The activities of the playground start at 10.00 am and end at 5.00 pm.

CHILDREN GO HOME AND SUPERVISORS CLEAN UP – 17U.

Most of the children go home around 5.00 pm. Some supervisors stay at day-care and the others help cleaning up the playground.

FREE TIME - 17.45 U.

Once the playground is all cleaned up, the supervisors get some free time to themselves. This is the perfect time for a refreshing shower!

DINNER– 18.30 U.

The kitchen crew has done everything in their power to serve a delicious meal. This includes soup, dinner and dessert.

FREE TIME – 19.30 U.

The others get some more free time while the head supervisors and the playground management hold a meeting.

GENERAL ASSEMBLY – 20.00 U.

The general assembly is always held with all supervisors and head supervisors under supervision of the playground management. We quickly walk through the day and make important agreements for the next day(s).

EVALUATION OF THE DAY AND PREPARATION – 20.15 U. TOT 22.00 U.

After the general assembly we evaluate the day per group of age. What went well? What did you think of the day? Did you do something fun today? Who prepares the game for the next day? Let’s prepare!

MOMENT AT THE BAR – 22 U TOT 23.15 U.

And now it’s the time to really relax after such a busy day. The playground management or the head supervisors have something planned sometimes like a game, quiz, karaoke, comedy night, ... And we always throw a little party on the last evening of the week (Thursday evening).

WORD OF THE EVENING– 23.15 U.

Here at our playground of Don Bosco, we always end our day with a word of the evening. This is the time where we try to end the day with a positive thought before everyone goes to sleep.

GOING TO BED– 23.30 U.

You can always be sure to fall asleep quickly after such a busy day.
